About me
I am a development economist based in the US working for an aid agency. In recent years I have done a great deal of work examining education programs in African countries, and now I am doing education work in Brazil. I read a lot. I do puppet shows for my children.
You can email me at tukopamoja at gmail dot com, although I check it at my whim.

Great idea! I just came across your blog, it is admirable you want to promote reading books by African writers. My friends and I have started a book club in hopes to read books mostly by African writers. Our first book club pick is by Ethiopian-American writer The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears Mengistu The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears. Dianw is a young writer who is also teaching at Georgetown University in Washington. He has received great reviews and awards for his book.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in your Africa Reading Challenge a couple of years ago. Now that I have moved from Nairobi to Islamabad I thought I would set up a South Asia Reading Challenge. I’d love you to join in, although I know it’s not part of your beat.
